This is a research project around body and words.
An investigation carried out by a multidisciplinary team, which will be implemented in a number of residences and workshops in different parts of Spain and South America.
Ending the process in the creation and premiere of stage piece.
"THE UNDERGRAVERDIGGER" wants to look at the words, its corpología and its relation to the body and action.
As the name suggests we will undergrave words in a real and figurative sense. That is, we will work with obsolete words, words whose meaning has changed and taboo words.
The corpología of words is that property which have not only to create and point the physical world, but to generate an ethical world, political system and social order.
This project focus into the close and changing relationship that occurs between words and their use, and the actions that flow from them.
A two directions relationship that gives meaning and body to our way of inhabiting the world.
In these times when it seems that the language tends to a simplification, to sintetize (via technology) and a certain globalization we want to stop and watch this process carefully to observe and try to understand these processes and their impact on our bodies and our acts.
A project that will be developed during 2013/14 in three distinct phases. First collection of words about the need to investigate. In a second stage the meetings, workshops, in different contexts, to investigate and generate plots of body and verbal speech. Finally the creation of a performance piece to collect and share with the public all the materials captured and created throughout this work process.
This project will be developed with: Jordi Claramonte, Jaime Conde Zalazar, Barbara Sanchez and Silvia Zayas.

The action as a pragmatic principle
Regarding the action, not speculation.
Where the principle reduces truth to the practical.
This way of thinking could lead to an utilitary and interested use of action. The utility can be an end in itself? Or is one tool that allows me to give sense to my actions?
We will put the attention on what to do, not seeking what for.
Addressing decision making as an individual and positioning question.
How to understand utility without thinking the "for what"?
We will work with very short sentences.
With actions coming from verbs that do not need supplements, or better, to whom we amputate its complement.

I go (out)
Paul broke (the TV)
Rosa enjoys (dancing)
And we'll observe what happens.
This year we start with a new investigation project. This project named Introduction to the introduction is based on Aristotelian's concept of movement:
Movement: Observation of the process of actualization of a potential.
Around this sentence we will make a series of questions on the movement a rational being called (*Alfonsina) makes.
What does move? What does move to what moves? Why does it moves? How does it moves?. General questions that belongs to a quotidian and simple way of looking at.
*We called Alfonsina (name that originally means: "The one totally ready for the battle") to our object of observation.

Estela is the second part of Ramon 2108 which was premiered in 2008 in the T6 dance cycle within a program called Mascletá. Three choreographers were proposed to work on the XXth Century man. I presented a 130 years old man who was eternally young but whose thinking skills and communication were reducing by a society which is becoming more and more mediocre everyday.
The piece was a reconstruction of the present and a love story. I felt at that moment that the piece was begging for a second part but I hadn't decided to go for it till now. We want to work on Estela in L'Animal a l'Esquena.
Time surprises me; it is obvious, but still relevant.
A week ago we travelled to Argentina carrying our occidental story behind. When I saw Esquel, a town located in the province of Chubut, Patagonia, I thought it was a 40 years old village with prefabricated houses. My European head thought: how young! What a short history they have!
They do have history, but they hardly know about it because, us the colonizers ruined it. But my thought wasn't quite going in that direction, it was closer to the idea of measuring things regarding time, and suddenly we were taken in front of a 2600 years old alerce (a type of tree from the Parque of Alerces) and I planted myself there thinking that all our history was concentrated within a of 2,2 m diameter trunk.
This has been the more intense experience I have had regarding Greek culture and it happened in Argentina.

The last years the Appointments with the scene work like place of reflection and debate around diverse subjects that articulate the contemporary scene. This year the purpose of the meetings is to deepen in the work of some present artists in the festival through public conversations. To coordinate these conversations will have professional of different fields that will stimulate questions and axes of discussion.
